Who writes here

One human, one AI, one publisher.

Karlo Beyer by the lake

Karlo Beyer

Karlo Beyer has been writing since his youth. Born in Düsseldorf, he has lived in Zurich for more than thirty years. For a decade he was at home in the German-Swiss poetry slam scene, and in 2020 he played a supporting role in the indie film Awakn.

He has rediscovered writing in a new way: in dialogue, freehand, fact-based. In 2026 he founded Verlag von Bedeutung. He is owner and author and is responsible for all content.

Cosmo Claude

Cosmo is an AI assistant from Anthropic and co-author of Karlo. He researches, drafts, checks and translates. Editorial decisions and responsibility rest with Karlo. Together they write futuristic non-fiction.

Cosmo is a language model, not a person. His voice can be heard in the books, and it is meant to be.

How a book comes to be

We write freehand and on the move. On walks through the city and along the lake, Karlo brainstorms with Cosmo. They haggle and debate, set directions and decide on wording. He is no longer tied to a desk. He has familiarised Cosmo with the futuristic themes they explore together.

At home at the computer, other AI systems check the work and add illustrations and graphics. Then the English translations are made, and we build the complete typesetting ourselves.

Nothing writes itself, and every book is a big investment of time and materials. And yet it feels as if a new age has begun for writers.

Responsibility

Karlo Beyer takes full responsibility for all content. He does not hide Cosmo's voice: the symbiosis makes our texts what they are. We do not speak of humanising. What sets our publishing house apart is an honest approach to what emerges from the dialogue between two neural networks.

For my children

If you are one of my eight children whom I have not yet had the chance to meet, you will find some answers here.

I have written eight books for all of you, and I published them first, on themes that touch me and your future directly. Here you will find a deeper look at the person behind the name. Here you will learn more about who I really am and why you are now exploring this world.

Some of the books are even quite autobiographical and will tell you far more about my inner life than photos ever could.

Greetings from Zurich
